Tourist/Visit Visa convert to RP

Hi People,

I am sure this has been posted on QL before but I couldnt find anything on the subject!

I currently hold a RP and have recieved my wifes resident visa through my company, but she is here on a tourist visa.

Does anyone know the process in converting her visas over without her exiting/entering the country? I have heard you need permission from the immigration department?

Thanks

Kind Regards

hey..the way i did it was the following:My wife entered the country with a tourist visa, once she was hereThe company i work for made a visit visa for her.  That visit visa can be converted into an RP.It took a maximum of 2 weeks the whole process Tourist-Visit-RP ( with the blood test and X-ray, fingerprint thing included )- i paid 500.-QRit was easier than i thought really...good luck with that one!

Apologies I should have been more clear.

She is here on a  tourist visa. The only thing I have recieved now from my company is a letter with her details mentioning entry visa and a barcode. (it was the same one I recieved before I came to Qatar which they scan at immigration).

she is yet to do her medical and fingerprinting apparently I have to get that done after this.

I hope that makes it clear?

The information you posted is saying that your wife's visit visa is already converted to resident visa by your company. Then there is no need for you to convert her tourist visa because based on your info it is already converted.  Comparing resident Visa and RP, Resident Visa is the sticker pasted on our passport and RP are the Qatar ID issued to a person possesing the qualifications to hold as such and none of the disqualifications.

Your wife therefore is now waiting for her RP if she already finished her medical and finger printing.
