Visit visa extension for family ... can this be done in steps

Please help me on the following issue.

Can I extended my wife's visit visa through Metrash2 first for 3 months and later again for 3 months.Once the previous extension is near to expiry.

But better goto Jawazat and extend for 6 Months at once. They allow 6 Months extension at once for Wife and children
