With Visit VISA, what are ways of getting a better JOB offer?
I'm sure QATAR has a lot of job opportunity to offer for expats. Either by employment agency or direct employment are the common ways of being hired. I came here with visit visa thru a family sponsorship. What I've got now are 50 days and the choice of getting job offers of my preference.
Do you have any experience or ideas on how you did it with VISIT VISA? Besides with online application, are there any other ways?
Kabayan, If you need to scout for a good job in a good company, then do not wait for it to be published in the local newspapers or thru classified ads because you will spend more time waiting for uncertainty. Better check the yellow pages for good companies that fits your qualification and put it on a list. You may have your application letter and CV sent to your prospect companies email addresses but I would suggest not to do it by email since they might think it as spam and disregard your email. Rather have your cover letter addressed to their HR dept or to their general manager and fax it. Some managers have fax machines beside their tables. Others have their own secretaries. Once faxed and addressed to them, there are greater chances that your CV is on their table for review. Their secretaries doesn't need to download and print out your CV since it comes out naturally printed on fax. Decline from indicating on your CV that you are on visit visa. A lot of managers know that people on visit visa have few days to look for a job before their visas expire. Let them be the once to ask you first and not you to tell them that you are on visit visa. Telling them will only show you are too desperate to get a job and have your visa fixed. Then they will offer you with low salary since they know you need a working visa.
Good luck.
hello again kabayan, i have another suggestion. because tis one is effective. the pressure is you are running out of time. so the only thing you could do is to go and visit some companies. like we did with my fiance. everybody is telling that pass your CV to a filipino friend maybe they could convince or help.. but in my case and with my fiance " thats a big dis appointment" so never depend on other people.if they can help you that will be great.but if not coz you will wait and wait until your visa expires.. try looking at the directory and look for companies that is related to your profession. call them and ask directly if they have vacancies and if you could pass your CV.
what happened is with my fiance. we are loosing hope.. but then. we decided to visit this company. and its worth to try. we even talked to the supervisor and they entertained us with a good smile. because that was early morning and even though we dint call or advise them. they accept her CV and they told us if they are inerested and if they have vacancies. they will call. and thank God. they just called and they will interview her tomorrow. So internet i guess is not the only way.or the news paper.
and ofcourse.. it depends on your qualifications if they are impressed or interested.
Yes, the issue isn't much about VISA. But it's more particular about finding a job with VISIT VISA. With respect to forums rule on topics, I hope the admin may take action on this matter. What is important is to get substantial replies. Nevertheless, still my intention is to solicit ideas and experience about getting a job with Visit VISA. Thanks.
I think issue is not Visit visa, issue is getting a suitable Job which you must obviously be trying very hard. if employer likes ur CV visa issues can be sorted out easily, No big issue.
Yes, its my 1st time to visit Qatar.Kabayan, you're telling exactly what I am into now. I'm aware, a lot of jobs offered here, and I was told w/ visit visa it's easy to find an employer. But only few them will put you into in a win-win situation. Some expats grab these opportunity since they haven't any choice, right? But, I also believe that there a few employers got a better deal to offer, so I decide to wait for them. While waiting, I keep on prospecting through internet. I haven't exhausted my prospects list yet and I'd like to have some variations with monotone activity. So I need your input. How do employment agency here consider applicants with Visit Visa? Do they conduct actual job hiring here where you can submit printed CV in person? Do we find job vacancies other than internet? Thanks again for your time.
hi kabayan. is this your first time here in qatar or any gcc country? if you have some experiences in other GCC countries. that will be a big factor when applying. Before i went here. everybody is telling me its easy to find a job having visiting visa. now i tell to myself " it is easy if you are not choosy about the employers" but it is boring as hell waiting fora good company. I guess from my experiences. definitely it will atleast better employers posting on newspapers. and here at qatarliving.. not all of it are good as everyone expect it to be or to be your dream job. but if you are lucky. and when destiny hits you. they will just call and this could be one of your ideal company to go to.
And it depends on what profession you are into. so having a medical profession having visiting visa. will definitely take you longer that you expect. but if you are a senior architect ot engineer.. alot will be interested and you will be the one whos turning employers down.
Gulf-times is helpful and sites of employers if they post some vacancies. some search engine too like gulftalent. goodluck
well l don't have much to say but .....I think you have to search by yourself and find better opportunities through the advertisements in the everyday press or through "alwasset" it is also a good choice ... and after that when you are hired they change your Visit Visa into a resident visa for the certain period of the contract deal.
By the way your question is not THAT clear try to rewrite it again.
l am confused you want ways to search for jobs????
