I am a British woman and have been offered a job in Doha. Can I sponsor my husband and children to live there? I have been told by HR that I may not be able to - obviously it's a mjor issue.
Does anyone have any information that can help me???
It seems your employer should be able to answer your questions as to why you may not be able to sponsor your family. I'm a woman and I sponsor my two children and my husband. I know several women who sponsor their families. My residency permit and the sponsorship of my family happened fairly quickly. I did not encounter any problems. The only thing I can think of is the money factor. There is a minimum amount of money you have to make in order to sponsor a family but I am not sure what the minimum is.
You should really consider if this company is a Company you would like to work for since they are finding this risky, to me this HR dep, seems to be useless or not willing to go the extra meters to accomodate you and they might cause you other problems as well.
Thanks for that - do you happen to know if there is a government department or organisation that can confirm if I call or email them? Id like some sort of indication from them as to how certain it is that I will be able to sponsor my family. HR seem to think it's a real risk.
Hi Aggie, am British too. When I came here I sponsored my husband and kids, but he eventually got a Job and moved on to his companies Sponsorship. However, all 4 kids are still under mine. Good luck.
