Work Visa / Resident Visa issue ??

Bullishboy
By Bullishboy

Hi All,

Just wondering if Im ultimately offered a position in Qatar by a top tier Company, in order for me to secure a work / resident visa do I need to send/bring with me Original School Education certificates ?, my issue is that I have been in the work place for many years and I left full time Education over 20 years ago !, Im not certain I have all of my Education certificates and the quality of the ones I do have are in poor condition.

Would this be a show stopper in terms of my being issued a work visa and ultimately a resident visa.

I do have all my technical course/certificates from workplace training etc...

Im a UK Citizen

Thanks

first I even didn't bring any of my Certificates to Qatar. As Mandy said, back home nobody never asked me about them :)

But when I went for my vacation first time, i got them with me just in case, as I knew, i might need them here. And that's what happened. When I was about to be hired by my next employeer, they asked for all my Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates. Especially when it comes to annual re-evaluation and salary increase, my papers are a good support :)

rMs, it's not only "I know"... I can teach you as well.. and not only teach, but if you even needed my help...

Bullishboy, your employer will let you know exactly what documentation you will need for your employement and what additional paperwork will be required for your family status. It does differ with various positions/employers. Kerala, in the West we usually don't have to supply original certificates, the data dissemination system in the US does all that electronically.

Why dont you have certificates if you have at least some University education? I left school same period with you but can provide all certificates- primary, secondary, Bachelors and MBA.What you write on your Cv need to be supported by documents otherwise anybody will say he is PHD qualified.

thanks for responses so far.

I will likely be taking up a middle management position with a Bank in Qatar, base salary will be at least QR 22,000.00 a month so no issues there, my issue/concern call it what you will is, the sponser knows that I have certain qualifications based on what I have indicated in my Resume, these are wholly accurate , Im just struggling to find all of them, given that I left full time Education over 20 years ago.

Im therefore now assuming my Employer as sponser will simply apply for my work and then residence visa, once these are in place I can apply as sponser for my family to come over, as I will be working for a top tier company on a good salary the certificates , be it all or some that I provide with my application for my families visa will be of minimal importance so long as I provide what I have. Am I missing something ??

Do I need to provide ALL the certificates I claim to have to my prospective Employer to process my visa's ??, if not then it should not be an issue what number of certificates I provide when applying for my families visa's given my work status, ie middle management, good salary. Appreciate further thoughts, thanks.

Im searching out my missing certificates but having been educated in a number of countries it is proving difficult.

work visa can be issued within 3-5 business days (rMs, don't say it might be issued in few hours - I know, but we are clarifying here GENERAL rules, not exceptions).

RP usually takes 2 weeks to 1 months, depends on the PRO of your comapny (as an exception, RP can be issued in 48 hours)

I was just talking about the word you used -'Cannot'. Still i say you CAN ! you could have mentioned, there are exceptions.. neither i did !

I was also giving him a good advice, If he has got anyone in Qatar who has got a good position in ministry, he will for sure gt the visa done ! Take it in a positive way Qs !

rMs, by the general RULE you can NOT. You can 9not 100% sure!) if you have wasta, or got some other exception...

Again, the guy asked the question, and you cannot anser to him: "Yallah, come over, don't bring anything, don't care, you will get your family here, you will get all you want here". It would be irresponsible.

that's why some people come here and when something goes wrong, they start complaining: "we got this answer on QL"... now I understand WHO gives them such irresponsible answers! you, rMs..:):)

so don't mislead him!

"for example one on the Driver's position cannot sponsor his family. "

I still stand on my words.. you CAN !

The poster didn't mention anywhere that he only go straight with the 'RULES'.

rMs, You are wrong!

i am not talking about wasta.

The guy asks about the RULES. See the difference?

I also can bring a monkey on the business visa... or at least housemaid for sure.. Does it mean, is that possible in general?

think before saying something!

Bullish, in order to bring your family here (to sponsor them), you have to meet certain criteria. one of the most important requirements for sponsoring your family is holding a senior position in the company, i.e. for example one on the Driver's position cannot sponsor his family. In order to prove your position, and also as another requirement for being eligible to sponsor your family Education Certificate (higher is better) is a must. Another very important requirement is minimum salary which is currently QR7000 BEFORE your accommodation allowance.

If you think you meet above requirements, also make sure your visa issued by your Sponsor (company) has a Family Status visa, to avoid complications in the future.

And try to understand one thing: try to forget about “sensible” rules and "nonsense". Just try to empty your imagination and get ready to adopt completely different mentality, rules and regulations. And the first thing is you can NOT do anything here without approval of your Sponsor, including bringing your family on permanent status.

ok just so I have got this straight !.

To secure a work visa and subsequent resident visa for myself thru my Sponser in Qatar I DONT need to bring my certificates over but to secure a visa for my family I DO need to bring certificates over, doesn't add up to me, what do my certificates have to do with securing visa's for my family when the Sponser is placing their trust in me from the get go ?.

Id appreciate confirmation on this as it could be a lengthy process for me in terms of attempting to locate said certificates, thanks.

yes. it's correct. so if your planning to bring your family here, better to secure that certificate.

thanks , a bit of conflicting information about then because I think on this very board someone was mentioning that they had to provide their education certificates to secure residence for there family to come over ?, is that incorrect too ?

it is not required anymore. once you have your contract your sponsor company will going to process your working/residence visa.
