car insurance
hi,
I dont have a comprehensive insurance plan for my car that is around 3 years old. My current insurance company (QIC) is not giving me a full insurance because of an accident. Is it possible for me to get an insurance from any other company and if possible, which one is the best option?
Also, my current insurance expires in December but I want my full insurance with immediate effect. is that possible?
any help would be appreciated....
thanks
I had the same problem with QIC, after the 1st year they only offered TPL(3rd party) so I switched to Doha Insurance Company in Najma. They never asked for any clearance from QIC,just the copy of the previous insurance of my car.Until now my insurance is Doha Insurance but I got 3rd party only since I had no claim or never got into accident last year.
You can transfer to other insurance company but the problem with some insurance company is you have to pay a certain amount even if you got the full insurance.
Well I had a good and bad experience with QIC.
Good thing was every time I went with an accident, I had no problem is getting the clearence and the job was done really quick, smooth and very friendly manner.
But when I went to renew my second year insurance with QIC, they simply rejected and that was very rude. Also, during that time there was no law to suppor customers but now, according to law, no insurance firm can reject your request to get insurance.
In case you wanna move from one company to other, you will have to take a NOC from QIC and go to a different company, but that said, most of the new companies will take you on 3rd party for first year to observer your performance. You will get full only after that.
Its better you visit them and discuss.
Even if they put you on first party, they will have certain clause around it. one of my friend had an accident and when he visit insurance, he found out that initial Qr.1000 he had to bare and rest was provided by insurance.
Hey thanks

thanks again...
I had the same problem with QIC and switched to Al Khaleej. problem solved
