Hi, does someone know, if furniture such as living room or formal sofa set is expensive in Qatar as compare to US or Canada? What about accents??

We are also moving from a town in Greater Edmonton Area,AB.

We are also bringing all our furniture from Canada. How did you deal with 220V for appliances and electronics items. Did you buy converters from Canada or Doha? what rating converter would be fine.

Thanks for your reply.....

and expensive! I saw a couch the other day for 182,000 QR ( mind you that was at the Pearl ). Even at the stores for the rest of us, it is way more than you'd think it should be worth.

IKEA will be opening soon, so if you can hold off ...

You can get electronics here, same thing more expensive, but if you are patient and don't mind the fact that stores don't advertise here so you don't know what they have, you can find just about anything. If you bring electronics from home, you will need to get a converter, same thing, can be hard to find but often available at the Carrefour.

Hi my family and I arrived in doha just a few days ago and we brought all our furniture and electronics from Canada (Edmonton, Alberta). We found it to be cheaper to ship our furniture here, and north american furniture is of better quality.

Electronics wise each family member got a new mac computer/ipad/iphone, because they are significantly more expensive here compared to North America.
