to cut it short for you, both of them are good technology, however when to use what?
Plasma perform better for:
Movies, Action, fast pictures, Dark images in movies, on SD quality Cable recievers, Blue Ray, DVD.
LCD:
Computer images, PS3
When buying a Plasma or LCD check the life time, both plasma and LCD life time can go up to 100,000 hours.
Warning: Do not buy Samsung, LG and Chinese products, they are very bad products and they cheet in terms of quality. and how ever tell you that Samsung LCD can last for 100,000 hours is fooling you. the maximum life time of These LCD's is 2 years.
when buying LCD, check the Response time, it should not be higher then 4ms delay.
Contrast ratio should be 30,000 and dynamic 1000,0000
My suggestion buy Panasonic or Philips and avoid alternative.
plasma is usually bigger, higher picture quality, but is more expensive and has shorter life.
Plasma is Gas molecules panel whereas LCD is Liquid molecules panel.. press/touch the screen of plasma, its just a glass but press/touch the screen of LCD you can feel liquid inside... Liquified Crystal Display has more long life and more clear picture than plasma....
