FE Desert Safari – The Craziness of the Desert Rollercoaster
It all started from the meeting point around 12:30 pm Friday’s afternoon. The excitement was all over the faces, everyone is looking forward to discover what the unknown was to most of us. DMS, started the photo shots carnival by taking lahat-lahat group shots. Everyone was asking about the land-cruisers [we saw many, but unfortunately were not ours :)] and when are they going to arrive as well as Randy was the last to come and make the group complete.
5 of the 7 cars just arrived and everyone rush to the cars after the call ‘choose your car’ was announced by Alpha Tours Crew. The photo shots session continued during the 40 minutes trip from there to Sealine beach, photos for the car group members, to the other cars and groups, to everything around all the way.
Deflating the tires of all the cars started at the beginning of sealine beach, taking photos with the camels, around the cars and I can’t forget the look on Mhoomie face when she was carrying something close to 10 cameras in her hand trying to figure out what to do with all of those, saying in the back of her mind 'ano ba naman?'
The crazy Rollercoaster started to roll down the cars at the moment everyone jumped there and the cars start moving. The communication between the guys through the Radio was my amusement during the whole trip; the drivers were really professional and needless to say they were getting excited whenever they see the happiness and excitement all over the faces.
It became later a competition between them, who can make his group scream louder and let the other cars hear them. At some points, we got the feeling of the potatoes bags when you move them everywhere [kanan, kaliwa, harap, likod] and I won’t blame the mixed fruits for turning into Cocktail juice in the mixer later. Going up and down, beating the gravity of the land sometimes and jump in the air, to go back again and continue rolling. The hearts were going down every time we go down a cliff and someone with me was always screaming ‘where is my soul?'
Stopping by some points to take photos again and everyone was singing ‘put your hands in the air’ while jumping high in the air, capturing those unforgettable moments when we all tried to bring that mountain down or make the earth stop for a moment and listen to us.
Reaching the camp around 17:00, all are settled down relaxing after the trip, taking photos of the place, playing volleyball or sliding over the small hills or making something hot to drink while waiting for the dinner to be served. Alyasbobby was capturing most of the moments with his camera around all the camp, putting those photos all together will make the complete story of that memorable day. The food was served by 18:00 and I can’t say anything more than ‘ang sarap’, guess most would agree [or was I just Gutom na Gutom?]
Introducing yourself to the group and the two games we played were the last thing that we did before leaving back to Doha. Team 1 win the ‘tag of war’ after many rounds of pulling, grabbing and dragging in the middle of our excitement and laughter. The second game was indeed was a little bit scary, my heart was always stopping at the same moment the music stops. The last man standing runs all the way in the end chased by the last member of the other group who fall down kissing the sand in an unforgettable scene that makes all laugh out of their hearts.
Going back home after filling the tires of the cars with air again, back to the meeting place where we said goodbye to everyone thanking each other for such a nice day.
All thanks to the organizers of this trip and everyone who helped in making this trip possible, to Alpha Tours for the nice crew, camp and being friendly to everyone.
