The Jolibee Experiment...
CeliaJ & for future entrepreneurs out there, this one's for your notebook. Here's a little marketing/business experiment I did last time I was in Manila.
I called all my cousins kids, whom all lived nearby, & told them I'm going to treat them to Jolibee for lunch. In a jiffy, they all showed up in my doorstep, all nine of them. So I lead them to my movie room popped in Harry Potter & told them to wait. Not knowing that I already called home delivery for burger, fries, chicken, & spaghetti. When then food came, I immediately disposed the packaging & any signs of "Jolibee" brand & laid them all naked in a food tray & the spaghetti, in a bowl then served it to the kids. Then saying, eat this & we'll go to Jolibee for dinner instead.
You could immediately see their disappointment knowing I promised to take them to Jolibee but now here I am, serving them food from nowhere. Although they started consuming all the food, the kids still asked are we still going to Jolibee? None of them Jolibee regulars knew they had eaten Jolibee nor have complemented the food. They thought it was something I've prepared in the kitchen, and, its obvious they didn't liked the food.
Come dinner time I took them all to Jolibee. Immediately you could see their faces lighting up as if entering heaven! They ordered exactly the same as what I served them earlier for lunch & they all said "this tastes better".
So now I conclude Jolibee was able to achieve one of the most successfull strategies in food business. So for would be food entrepreneurs out there, do not just serve your customers with good food, but serve them the "experience of food".
