How to obtain a police clearance in Qatar
Hey guys!
Firstly, thank-you for all the support of all the fabulous QL people that i have chatted with and met in person. Qatar wouldnt be the same without this site!
Today I would like share my experiences that I have had so far whilst trying make final arrangemnts and leave Doha. Many of you know that we are moving on to Abu Dhabi.
Anyways here we go:
obtaining a Police Clearance Certificate (Qatar)
This is very important cause in certain point of your life you will be asked for all the police clearance certifcates of the countries you have lived in (i.e. when applying for a job, when migrating to a country etc.)
1. Go to the CID clearance place. Location: On Salwa Road, driving to Industrial area there is a Hardeens on the right side. On that roundabout turn right. After 100 metres, then take the first road right again and once in the slip road, take the first road right again. Keep going striaght until you reach a t-junction, then turn left. Drive to the end of the road and turn left again. You will see infront of you a large car park. This is the newCID place.
Opening Times = sun-thurs 08:00-11:00
2. Get the form, you will need to attach:
2 photos on white background, passport and rp copy, the clearance certifcate of your home country- if you have an embassy in Doha- they have to stamp this and then you have to get a second stamp on it from the MOFA (minitry of forgein affairs). Location: On the cornish, museum roundabout turn right, continue straight and you will see Al Seefhotel on your right. There is also a small road there- turn right into it and follow it along- then on your left is the 'annex MOFA' building. Tip: Bring a credit card for payment - around 20QR)
3. To get the police clearnace certifcate from CID takes around 2 weeks. To collect it you must have your Qatar ID card.
Good Luck.
Dear Annakrug, your directions and guidance were invaluable.. I went this morning but they did not even want my sponsor letter or embassy letter... just 2 photos (on blue background), PP and RP copy, and QR 10. As you said, they told me to come back in two weeks... hope all goes well!
Give my regards to (I assume) your hubby Johann.
I wrote him a JD years ago when he was at the Falcon Club.
All the best.
On the MOI website it states that you need 3 photographs size (4X6cm).
