PC problems
I wanted to post this in the Gadget group but I couldn't.
Here is my problem.
I had dial up on my laptop from home.
then I had Q-Tel's mosaic.
I had this removed.
I dail in from home and get connected to my work place server.
Then I click on the Internet icon - the blue E
I get the following message:
TCP 501/505 not implemented.....
Any hints - tips about what I can do or should I just take the laptop to the computer souq at mercure / ex-sofitel?
Great suggestions.... will try..
trouble is our office pc support... hides and well if you saw the state of your network you would see that it isn't a viable option to try this route.

talking about the weekend, either playing games at home or sleeping :)
Its understandable...normally u think shorter working hours can get u happy...but then u slowly start to realize that the work requires more time and then as usual work starts pending...and pending...sad for u girl...
so what else is happening...whats for the weekend...other than throwing stones at ppl's houses...

that should work and hopefully she does has only registry issues with her IE not a corrupted files, protocols and services that need to be reinstalled again.
if it is as u said adware or something .. i guess my solution shud work perfectly .. isn't it???

Try this solution to reset ur TCP/IP configurations to its default
To reset TCP/IP, go to the Start menu, select Run, type CMD and then hit enter. Once at the command prompt, type: netsh int ip reset iplog.txt.
The last part of the command: "iplog.txt," is the filename of the logged results of the command if you want to view it. The name can be altered as you wish.
This will reset some registry settings for TCP/IP and hopefully get your Internet Explorer functional again.

do anything, it might be an issue with the VPN client or the configration provided by your office :)
Guess that your office is using a proxy server that you have to supply it into your home via IE [Internet Explorer]. Just go to IE --> Properties --> Connections --> LAN settings --> then enter the proxy server provided by your office.
If that does not help, guess that you will go through those steps:
IE --> Properties --> It will open the 7 Tabs window with IE properties. Go to the last on 'Advanced' then under this option 'HTTP 1.1 Settings' uncheck the 'Use HTTP 1.1' and then click apply and close the window. If it does work, then problem solved. If does not try this one:
Do the same steps mentioned above to open the 'Advanced Tab Properties', then go to uncheck now 'the Show friendly HTTP error messages' option and try now. It will give you more description to the error now and if you had something like [could not remember the exact phrase]'http does not support this program or program not supported by http' check the name of that program because it might be and 'Adware', 'Spyware' or any other software causing this issue. Try uninstalling it and hopefully your problem would be solved.
Hopefully you got the latest updated version of IE there on your computer.

I guess there is a lot to tell about the TCP ...
Anyway all u need to do is go back to the Network Admin. in ur work place to configure it to u .. The server should allow u too to connect to the internet through it and give u the permission .. cuz when u send a request (opening a web page like QL or yahoo is a request) this request is directed to the server which u r connected too ... then the server get it for u and return it back in HTML format to ur browser .. Having ur IP as ur Address ..
Sorry for the long technical post .. but i guess u need to know what is going behind the scene.

you had mosaic so the setting were changed on ur laptop. and after you removed ( Cancelled?) u need to set up every thing as b4 to work it smooth.
