Is 2mb ADSL worth it? Anyone using the connection speed here?

I'm thinking of getting the 2mbps ADSL connection for my apartment as my applications are media rich and i use a lot of streaming/VOIP apps. Is anyone here using the 2mbps connection which cost QR400 a month and is it worth it (in terms of superfast download speeds etc compared to 1mbps connection)? Or is the service not always up to scratch?
Was thinking of getting either that or the Mozaic package which comes with internet as well. Cheers for the advice!

Mozaic is currently 512Kbps, but Qtel are in the process of doubling speeds wherever possible so this will soon be 1Mbps for the same price.

What this also means, of course, is that if you get the 2Mbps product it will soon be upgraded to 4Mbps (wherever possible) for the same price.

I say "wherever possible" as the speed you can receive is dependent on your distance from the telephone exchange which the ADSL service is delivered from. To get 4Mbps you'd need to be perhaps 2km or less from the exchange. Unfortunately there's no way of knowing in advance which exchange you get your service from.

I got it and I find it slow( I am used to 8Mbits-16Mbits from home) so anything even slower than 2Mbits is a waste of time

hi

i also wanted to ask the same question. Is 2 MB is meant for offices ?... Is it worth to invest 400QR for an indepnnt house with 2 users ??

How do you rate MOZAIC speed .Is it equivalent to the exisitng 512 MB / 1 MB / 2 MB ?? where it stands
