DELL or Sony vaio laptop?

OK guys the question is: should I purchase a Sony vaio or a DELL laptop?

I will be spending upto QR6000.

Any thoughts or input will be appreciated. I have done some research, Google etc. but I am now looking for personal views. Clearly, I will be looking to purchase the laptop that offers me the most for my money. I like the idea of media buttons so I can start/pause music films etc without needing to open another application. I had a look at a Sony last night and the clarity of the screen was great but the rest of the laptop was not a high enough spec. That said, I'm not fixed with my requirements but I do want something as high end as possible for my money. Having the laptop shipped in is also a possibility if all the figures are correct.

Regards.

If you're only choosing from Sony and Dell. Sony would probably be a good choice. But you better consider other brands as well, because HP also does a good job. And they also have those one-click button that you like without opening applicatins. It's called Quickplay, it launches videos, photos, music and Internet TV at the touch of a button.

My friend,

If you want a laptop to be worth every riyal of your investment in terms of performance, then you have to lay off choosing Sony. Sony is gr8 but what you pay goes mainly on the brand name.

Dell on the other hand is known to be heavy, very few are light-weight. If you don't mind carrying around a +3kg laptop then go for it...

After reading your requirements, I recommend choosing either Toshiba or HP...

Good luck!

Mac and Toshiba is good. But if your selection is only between Sony Viao and Dell, I prefer you choose Sony Viao because it has a high quality screen resolution plus a complete bundled Sony softwares are included.

I recommend going for an HP laptop... They have a really good support system and good value for money... and btw Alienware laptops cost 5000... USD... not QAR so it's not really worth buying a system that's too high end as Intel and AMD releases new processors every 2 years and a new line is due this year...

Try to google for "Alienware Gaming Laptops" by Dell. Recently, they launched some real cool high end ones. Good Luck!

As you are able to spend QR 6000 , I think it will be better to go for a TOSHIBA or HP laptop.

As Computers industry is fluctuating and changing rapidly, and new operating systems' versions are being issued from time to time, be aware to get the highest available specifications to your budget, to ensure that you will be able to use your laptop for longer time.

Wishing you all the best
