Supreme Education Council Qatar Rejection

Good morning people. I have this situation: a former University colleague of mine from an African country approached Supreme Education Council Qatar during the process of registering as an engineer in Qatar (MMUP). However, he could not complete the registration in order to get the University on the approved list of SEC. Reasons for rejection: 1. University is lowly ranked in the world. 2. The University is not approved in other GCC countries and Qatar.

Ironically, this rejected University is ranked higher that many schools already in the MMUP approved list. My question: how can one successfully challenge this rejection? Can the embassy play any role? Has anyone gone through the same situation before? Any answers will be of immense help here.

Engineer Working Parsons, thank you for that info, but was the Philippines Minister able to get some of their schools approved with MMUP?

The only way it appears is through your embassy or possibly the university itself could take up the matter with SEC. SEC must be having it's own set standards through which it ranks an educational institution. However, correcting the situation either by your embassy or by the university itself will definitely take time.

Let the embassy see the MMUP staff. Similar issue was tackled by Philippines Minister when she visited Qatar two months ago (for their Engineers working in Qatar).

Guys, I need clues, ways, links etc on how to tackle this issue. So far, Britexpat is the only sound advice I have received. I need more - I don't need cackling or blabbing because this is a very serious issue. Thank you.

Nwosu, don't reason with MM, he has no logic in reality...he says things without logic or offer solid advice on the reality of the matter. He says he is humble and lives a simple life and have a big grin on his face to seek benefits from others. I think he smiles to get into your nerves with his illogical comments. He has no sense of reality or helping a follow QLers. Everyday he trolls around the forum to make fun of people with senseless comments with value or offering help in the matter. So don't take his comments. Better to ignore than react to the senselessness of the radical comments

There is NO logic in this part of the world. It's a Greek word! ( λογική)

Molten Metal, it is not a case of fighting; it's a case of injustice. The University that was rejected is ranked higher than many Universities on MMUP approved list. This rejected University is recognized by many world-class institutions around the world. There is little logic in this part of the world.

Nw, No need to fight, just look another route for the purpose ....... I wish you joys & good luck ...............

There is nothing you can do. The embassy could take up the matter and put forward a case to the SEC that the university be included in the bona fide list.. However, this will take time
