Steve--the statistics are from the UN; it's not rubbish it's emissions, and most of the CO2 emissions do not come from individuals but from the LNG and petroleum industry. The rest is from all of the traffic and air conditioners.

98% of all facts are made up on the spot!

Are you seriously suggesting that every person in Qatar dumps 1 tonne of rubbish every week!!!

The biggest rubbish in Qatar are 'facts' like these

finesse--I am not surprised at all. The local concept of recycling is opening up the car door and dumping garbage on the ground for some worker to come and collect.

At over 50 metric tons per annum per person, Qatar's per capita CO2 emissions per capita are the highest in the world--2.5 times that of the U.S., twice that of the UAE, and almost twice that of the runner-up.

I am surprised Qatar doesn't have Recycling centres; I have never seen one.

Yes, pollution is horrible here in every way--air, water, beaches, roads, streets. People need to take more pride in the country in which they live and take better care of it.

Very sad. Qatar is about 30 years behind Europe in terms of recycling and waste management. And Qatar needs to catch up badly--per capita the largest emitter of carbons in the world. That guck in the air these past few days isn't just dust. A lot is pollution.

This is not okay. Qatar leads the word in pollution per capita. They will lose their championship!
