My dad and stepmom live in Crofton. I lived with them for a while and loved it. They're coming at the beginning of November and one of my requests was Old Bay. I don't eat fish but i LOVE Old Bay.
Are you coming to Qatar fukutoo? If you are bring some Oldbay I would definitely buy some from you when you get here. That would be outstanding.
I am not sure on the rental prices of boat, but they do rent them around. You can catch squid sometime while out spearing for crabs from what I am told. Crab traps that's the way to go.
I'm from Maryland too, I'm packing a few crab traps, and A case of old bay, What other kind of sea food is around, and how much to rent a boat to go fishing?

They were blue crabs just like Maryland. We just used a broom stick with 2 stainless steel rods sharpened at the tip and a spot light. You wade through about waste deep water.
In my hometown in Annapolis Maryland, we catch blue crabs using chicken necks on a string, chicken necks on a trotline, or bait in a crab trap. But my sister in Missouri thinks Alaskan King crabs are the only kind of crabs worth eating. I've had stone crabs in Florida. I enjoy them all!
I don't know about the best place to fish but I went with some guys last night to Simaisma towards Al Khor (look on map in Marhaba) for crabbing. There were six of us and we speared around 300 crabs. Plus a few small fish. You have to go at night around 9pm for low tide. The crabs are in large abundance there. We stayed until about midnight so it takes a while to get 300 but it's well worth it if you like crabs. They are very good size too.
I'm also interested. I've tried a few places with little success. I caught one decent-sized fish at sealine, and a sting ray near sealine.
Everything I've caught has been on prawns - I've tried squid with zero success. My friend used to get decent sized fish spinning, but he has only caught one fish this way in our last five trips. We tried Al Wakra, but any bait we used was stolen by small fish. The people there who were having success were float fishing, but they were only catching small fish.
My sisters are flying over next week. They would like to go scuba diving. Where are the best spots? Also, the Inland Sea. Has anybody been on an organised trip there and what was it like?
