British Embassy Doha - Holiday Period Closure Dates

British Embassy - Doha
By British Embassy...

The British Embassy would like to announce that it will be closed for all business on the following dates during December and January:

Tuesday 18th December - Wednesday 26th December inclusive.

Tuesday 01st January 2008

We would like to take this oppotunity to wish you all a pleasant holiday period.

In true British style we should go and form an orderly queue at the Embassy, wait patiently to be seen, tell them politely how neglected we feel and then leave without any more fuss.

Golly gosh!

There's me, wishing our embassy a pleasant break, and ..... the torrent is unleashed!

And that being the case, perhaps I can add my tuppence-worth (any Brits know how to spell "two-penn'orth"?):

yah, the Brit. embassies around the world do generally have a very poor reputation in terms of being very aloof from their natives.

Shall we organise a silent protest outside the compound with banners, etc? Bombard them with ...... e-mails? Any other suggestions?

In fun.

The only time we ever heard from the British Embassy here is when they sent out their 'October Update' email (I'm not sure what happened to all the other month's updates).

The email contained nothing of interest, but they did send it so everyone could see everyone else's email address. Very professional!

Too true CB -

And let me add this point I went on holiday to Georgia and there was a footie match against Scotland.

the tartan army arrived in Georgia with Kilts and bagpipes.

I tell you what they did more PR and left more goodwill feeling with there warmth and good humour than any embassy.

Fantastic

I was joking too, but they do nothing for the British Community, whereas the Scottish do a lot for their community.

put your money where your mouth is.... happy holiday ...

I have enjoyed wonderful cultural events from embassies such as

italy

spain

colombia..

south africa

japan

when is the British embassy going to do anything for the community except charge us huge amounts for minor paper work and have a surly scottish woman to serve us?

The best part about the british embassy are the nice Sudani guards on the door.....
