How could i recognize a Qatari local

Been here to Doha for 2 years, i just don't know how to recognize a local Qatari to a non-local.

I recognize only Qatari base on the following mentioned:

Qatari men have a nice, pretty (should i say), silky and shiny clothes
Qatari women have their abayas shining at their back like a swarovski crystal that sparkles every time they walk out from the mall
Their luxurious car that displayed on the road like bentley, ferrari, and other expensive cars. And lastly
because of their plate number that have only 3 or 4 numbers on their car.

What about you...can you share some

you made me laugh...but you have to admit...the wannabes do that to show off when those that have the money have no need to flaunt it.

You're quite welcome Bastook. Sometimes we all forget that every nationality is basically the same...I do however know for a certain fact that the guy who drives that car and motorbike that is totally geared up with Qatari emblems and bling IS a Qatari...I love seeing that guy!!! He always makes me grin!!

Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fortune to run into the ones I do,and the eyesight to tell the difference.

oppps.... okey i was not obsessed with Qataris, it's just that because when i saw some of them wearing like very expensive clothes i though of they are a local, since some of you members here give me an idea on how to recognize qatari to non now im gonna have a glance of them.

And im really sorry for the ass word, i supposed to tell their booty or butt, i mean in totally rounded shape.

Apology to all Qatari QL member, i dont mean anything, it was just that you are looking neat.

I have addressed my message to a name Qatari but didn't really notice that i am refering to everyone. I really made a mistake posting the word Qatari which should it be the word let me introduce myself to Qatar Living instead of Qatari, and even didn't know that Qatari is the moderator of this Qatar Living, Im an avid fan reading mostly message in the forum and seen a lot of "Qatar" names. So please accept my apology for some mistake posted before.

FS, thanks a lot for reminding me and reading again my previous post.

god bless

I came accross your post in 'Introduce yourself to Qatari' Sorry..I just couldnt help laughing at your comment... LOL

amber2007 said hello qatari ...

allow me to introduce mine as well.

im 28 years old, female, spend my first year birthday here in qatar last September, and happy to be here, i find most of qatari man when it comes to their clothes "Oh my gosh! they look all neat and gorgeous". How could you not even look a glimpse on them as if when they walk out from their luxury car and there clothes are so white and it is really very neat because of there shiny clothes (don't know the exact name of their clothes) but OMG! really i love them the way they walk looking neat and of course handsome. and sorry but honestly they got a pretty nice ass and when i see qatari women they really are pretty. I just thought of them as a kind qatari citizen.

I salute and a big respect i have for them.

SALAMAT

What Scarlett mentioned is true, not all of Qataris are like that.

we have so many levels, from poor/modest to rich/showing off.

although I am Qatar, sometimes I even can't say who is Qatari and who is not because of the cultures are blending in and Qataris marrying non Qataris.

Emad, not all Qatari men drive like that, and not all Qatari ladies wear that thing. I don't and most of my friends don't.

Lol, I dress and behave like this... and have a flash car but not Qatari ;)

Locals are usually pretty easy to pick out. Granted it has become much harder to distinguish between the woman than it used to be.

Men will generally be in thobes but it is the accessories that will give them away.... flash pens and cuff links, precise tailoring of the thobes, very well manicured.

After you have been here a while and start to pick up some arabic you will be able to tell them from the rest of the arabs from their dialect.

to determine whether a person is Qatari or not is if they have it tattooed on their forehead...its a sure sign.

Seriously....what you've described isn't close to what most Qataris are...(ok except for the thobes...You've described only the very wealthy ones...not all are like that. Besides, I know some very wealthy ones that are just regular people and don't show off their money. Its like the rich in most places...those that truly have it, don't flaunt it..those that have a little, wear every bit of it on the outside.
