Inflation

Today in Peninsula Qatar, there is one news published blaming state responsible for high inflation. Thanks to Dr. Mohamed Al-kubaisi for wriing such valubale comments in Al-Sharq Newspaper.
I have noticed many news from Ministry of Business & Trade. They are forcing many things on all business. Where the House rents increased from Qrs.1,000 to 10,000,
why they did not noticed. The main cause of inflation is rent. When the rent increased, salaries remained the same in private sectors, at that time why they did not look on all these issues.
I have no problem, that there are lot of facilities for nationals, state is 100% right on this issue, but at the same they should also take care of non-nationals. Due to high rise in rents many expats family, resulting loss of a many supermarkets etc.
Before implementing any new law,I think state should make committee and discuss all issue with nationals and senior non-nationals.

owing to the jacked-up prices of rentals without a clear policy of its purpose, but an apparent attempt at recouping their investments in a shortest period possible. Greed I should say.

There was an earlier news about a committee of sorts to look into prices of commodities, but so far nothing. If you are closely following the news here in this regard, a lot of it doesn't go beyond the printed word. And if it does, just for a while and everyone forgets about it. In the meanwhile, the expats whose salaries remain the same can only tighten their belts a little more.

The rates of essential commodities has gone up 30 % in last 5 years in Qatar namely Cooking oil , bread , vegetables , fruits to name a few .

When rents scoared sky high in Qatar in 2006 , no action was taken by anybody . Everybody paid high rents and stayed on .

Once something goes up , it will not come down , this is universal law across the world .

Who suffers are the people with less wages namely labourers and workers .

So i fully agree with you that before taking decisions , there should be lot of insight work done , before implementing certain things .

Now One good thing the authorities have done is frozen the prices of essential commododities for RAMADAAN Period -so there is no exploitation of people by hiking prices which happens so often during ramadaan period here .
