Kindness of Strangers
Cast of characters:
2 laborers: One Egyptian, one Indian.
1 foreman: Indian.
1 Palestinian who happens to be around.
1 Qatari emerging from the Aramex office and about to get into his Mercedes Benz ML 4X4.
1 yours truly.
There has been excavation work just outside the Aramex office for the past few months. Like everywhere else in town the work is unending.
Last week there was some form of unfinished concrete rise that I used to drive my car over carefully to land outside the Aramex office. Today it had been removed and in its place was a small ditch of sorts with ruts inside it.
I guess if I had driven, and banged my car, quickly I would've made it. Instead my low, rear-wheel drive car got stuck.
15 minutes later they managed to extract it. The 5 of them sweating shoulder-to-shoulder, pushing and shoving my car under this blazing sun.
Thank you.
e46m3 - great attitude. We should acknowledge the positive and stop complaining. Whenever something is not right, we all take the number to have our critics heard. Whenever something is right, people tend to take it as granted. But there are signs of change :
just read the first letter in the column.

I was, han19. It would be weird if all six pushed and the car steered itself. That would've been something but if it was that smart it wouldn't have ended up with the rear right wheel spinning away like a loom in mid-air. As a matter of fact one of the guys tried to drive but he couldn't figure out the gears.
I switched the a/c off when it was happening. Honest. There was no way I could've kept it on.
they're usually around and without asking, they do help.... some say, be kind to strangers..................maybe not all....LOL
as it is e46 beat me at my points and you are asking qatari to give more points.nnnnnnnnnnnnnnooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
just curious e46, you gave the count of 6 but mentioned that 5 of them were sweating shoulder to shoulder.......blazing sun.......hhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmm just curious, but where was our dearest "yours truly"? hee hee hee.
could he have been behind the steering wheel with the AC on...............aaaaahhhh nnnnnnooooooo.........was he? :-D

True iwael but unfortunately, much of what is said in this forum is negative and negative. others even talk negative of religions and GOD! So strange.

Alhamdulillah, we can read something nice.
The diverse races of the group speak alot on what is humanity under the sun! Thanks e46M3. Could 'qatari' reward this guy with some points.
Perhaps this may be a way to encourage positive thinking in this forum.
Your post shouted at me: 'hold your horses', there are good elements in this community.

Random acts of kindness do serve to give us a bit of hope...
Similar incident happened to me, couple of months back in industrial area.
Again, strangers came to rescue. You would not know them, suddenly they'll come and help you out.
Human-bondness during those critical times worth million thanks.
