if it is too good to be true, then it's a lie. I always belive this words. experts say networks marketing is not the same with pyramid, but i think it's similar. those who's on the top  always get benefit, while the below lines get rubbish.  it doesn't have trickle down effect as what they say. it could be works for some ppl who have unlimited energy. if u think u're not the one, then better invest ur money and energy in somewhere else.

Network Marketing...

Is like all good marketing business.....

1. Ask the persons goal in life.

2. Ask if his present income can make him achieve his goals.

3. Ask why settle for so much less when you can do so much more.

4. Talk about the positives , dont mention the negetives.

5. Get him to meet an Icon in the business.

6. Dont let him think rationally, fill his brain with numbers.

7. Close the deal within 2 days, before the customer grows cold.

8. Get him into periodic group meetings, so that he may not grow cold.

9. Get him to repeat all the above with others.

The biggest lie they tell you is You own the Business. When actually the Business starts to own you.

- In Amway you have to buy a certain amount worth of product every month. If you default you could even loose the business you set up.

- They say the Product comes directly to you from the company but it is never cheaper than similar products available in the market.

 - They say the product is invented & patented by the company and there is no comparison to its product. Why would one want a patented product when one have a similar equally effective product at a lower price.

-The quantity sold is good enough to last  at least 6mths. That means they are selling WholeSale at a price that is costlier than Retail Price!

I mean one could set up any business in a similar way and earn much more money than direct marketing. I know a guy who set up Vegetable home delivery after learning about Direct Marketing.

The good things about Direct marketing is it teaches you how to Market your product, How to befriend strangers and most importantly how to Set your Goals in Life.

QT you are spot on in your comments.  I have never been directly involved myself in Network Marketing, but have seen a few guy's being very much involved and making a lot of money- but it seems to be a few that makes the money.

By the way, what line of business are you in as the success of Network Marketing often depends on the business you are promoting

Network Marketing groups can work for some, but you need to be very wary, especially the one's that charge you for the priviledge.

Network Marketing is not a new concept.  We do it naturally in our day to day lives as we meet new people.

Many group organisers do it for what it is, i.e. expanding your business contacts and opportunities (especially those that are free or only nominal fees to cover costs), others use it as a scam for luring desperate business people into parting with their cash for the simple priviledge of introducing you to other unsuspecting people (i.e. they get kickbacks from so called hiring of the conference room and breakfast.)

As with anything in business, its worth a look, but if you feel the pressure to cough up some money before you really see any benefit, run like hell!

That doesn't mean you shouldn't check it out!

Does that help a little?

SwissGirl, your question is a little open ended.

I could be here all year explaining the concepts, methods, advantages and disadvantages of Network Marketing and Direct Marketing.

It all depends on the context in which you mean.

Networking Marketing as a concept is pretty sound, however too many people nowadays use it as an excuse to make money from you.  Direct Marketing Campaigns only work if it is carefully planned and targeted thus resulting in a higher response percentage (as its pretty low on its own)

If you give me a little bit more background, I may be able to help you further.
