New premiership Season

As those who follow the premiership will know, the new season is nearly upon us.. and as a (former.. because of moving here!) man utd season ticket holder, i am searching for some ideas regarding caching some of the best games this season as i guess i wont be going to old trafford very often now.

I am guessing as a result of middle east investment in the premiership it is widely televised here.. so a few questions ..

- is it widely available on satellite and if so which channels do i need ?

- where is a good bar / hotel to go and watch the big games and is there a group that go regularly - i would be keen to meet up on a saturday and see everyone wonder why the hell their team didnt sign Michael Owen for free ;-)

- feel free to say hi and let me know who you support, i appreciate most premiership teams (sorry Chelsea guys, you are the exception !)

Nice idea, but unfortunatey I'm leaving a week into the new season. How am I going to live without my 380 lives games :(

Maybe there should be some kind of 'rotational system' of watching the big games at peoples apartments / villas for those interested..

and or a regular bar gathering that shows the footy... Id be keen to meet up for a bit of competitive banter !!

Yes, every single game live. You don't get that in the UK because they think it would impact on ticket sales for matches.

As b2d said, Showtime is the most important one to get - all 380 Premiership games are shown live. Then if you also want CL and FA cups you can add subscribe to the others as well, or just make a trip to a bar for those games.

Aren't the cups on jazeera this year? I know they have the champions league now.

Yes, it's available on Showtime (premier), Jazeera (internationals + comm shield) and ART (cups)

Sheherazad in Ramada, or Rugby club. I don't go there as:

a) I have an 84" projection screen at home and

b) The beer is much cheaper at home!

Hi - I'm United too :o)
