Got the same thing at QDC. Found a delicious semillon and chardonnay blend from South Africa and next time I went, less than a month later, it was all gone!
You can eat the cheese with anything you want. Some people back home dip veggies like carrots, celery sticks etc in to it. Nuggets are also quite commonly used.
I don't like dipping those things in my fondue, I prefer plain rolls, like french rolls or italian rolls, cut them into squares and dip them. It's fun eating with a few people, whoever "loses" the bread in the pot needs to pay the price, say, down the glass of wine or something.
Since there's wine in it, I have a feeling we won't find the real thing here... Hope I'm wrong though, cos I've tried making it at home but it didn't turn out to be the same thing.
Hmm, best bet is Carrefour. Or maybe Tavola in Royal Plaza. Think I saw some pre-packed fondue things there (maybe chocolate though). If you can't find it then maybe a raclette cheese (Carefour deli counter)would be an alternative. I know it's not fondue but eating it gives you that Swiss Alps feeling :)

is a water bath kept to tempreture. you fill a larger vessel with warm to hot water and sit the smaller one containing the food in it.

I won a fondue set at Bingo and I dont want it...you can have it if you want!
Maybe this is what I got wrong when I tried making it at home, I didn't use a bain marie!
think i will just buy a curry or chinese instead.

Paul, I made home made from a recipe, but it just wasn't the same. It split a bit. But if you do get it right, please share the recipe with us : )
