How would you describe or explain to a blind person (in born blind) the color "RED"?

By volcanopetal• 26 Dec 2009 19:28
volcanopetal

I just forgot to add. You need to put a torch in front of the eyes while rubbing the eyelids. The light will make other colour disappear.

And you have to do this several time each time asking if the change in color was the same or not.

Some efforts needs to be taken but it will be successful. It's upto you how you put efforts.

Solomon, i know we r programed and i have considered dat also while posting before.

red, blue or anything. To us who knew what is red, we can say it's red, just imagine if you were born like that. I know what you mean but your mind is already programmed to identify such color. Theirs is not! Unless they were trained specifically since birth.

It's very simple. Tell the person that what in front of the eyes is called black colour. (As he can't see anything but only dark ). Then press your finger on his eyelids and rub it. Ask him / her if there's any change in the darkness. as u rub, the blood circulates and appears red in closed eyes.

You try on urself it works.

yup in music you can create different tones i agree with that. however to a blind person never sees colors at all therefor he/she has no idea at all. so its gonna be different approach for him/her to understand what color red is so by using of EMOTION.

You could also explain to him, if I knock my fist in your eye it will be red, later blue, than green, and finally black.

He wanted to hear red is the color of love, or something. Describe a color through a feeling.

You know what happens to you when you blush?

that's the color red taking control of your face.

Or when the air is very very cold? the red takes control of your cheecks and tip of the nose.

And what about when you get aroused? well, you have to figure out by yourself what the red color is taking control of.
