Recommendations on Taxi/Limo
I realized there are many "limousin service" in the city. Are these legal? I had tried many times the official Karwa taxi typically arrived 1-3 hrs late or not even appearing. I missed my flight several days ago since the taxi arrive my house 2 hrs late and I planned a 2.5 hrs advanced check-in.
Yesterday, my colleagues suggested another taxi company called Fox Limo. Does anyone ever use this service called Fox Limo? Are they safe and reliable? I realized that they do not charge according to distance, and, are more expensive than Karwa. (I never saw them on the street.) Does anyone have other suggestions on taxi/limo service?

I m using Fox transport for 3 months now; i like them, they are nice ... at least they are on time and they know location. 50QR trip inside Doha.... at least the driver wont hit on me or keep on looking on the mirror.
Fox Transport has gone down in service. It used to be a well managed company, but unfortunately over the past year it has become unreliable and expensive in relation to other options. I use Cabz transport now and they are much better, more reliable and less expensive than Fox Transport.
there is three type of cars using for public transportation in Qatar. first one called KARWA-a public taxi service never get on time and nore satisfacting customer.second one lemosine service like FOX (there is many. mostly avilable on hotel loby)and the third one witch is "Bluemountain" sugested, is completly illigal it is very usefull for puple on time, but no good to engarage them,becouse we have to obay the rules and regulations of a country that we are living and earning our daily bread.you can use it if you will, but don't sugest it for public.
I agree with deserthawk. They may not be anything special if you call them and say you need a taxi now but they are very reliable when you pre-book in advance. They normally turn up early as well (from mine & friends experiences).
Ok they may be more expensive, but they are also much safer drivers.

Thanks for your comments. Does Fox offers intra-city trip like from QF to/from Abu Hamour? By the way, do they actually have meters in their cars or we have to negotiate a price before hand?
I use Fox for any trips to the airport to minimize chance of any flight disruptions. Unless it has changed, Fox rate started at QR40 within 15km & went up from there. I only ever had one bad experience when driver did not show as booking was recorded in error by them as PM instead of AM but luckily they were able to send another driver. As a general tip, I tend to book night before to guarantee availability as last minute bookings can be difficult to obtain during busy periods. Fox ph number is 44622777. Hope this helps...
