Remembering ELVIS - 30 years dead and still living!
I know I KNOW! And I'm not even a big fan of his either!
However, it IS the 30th anniversary of his death today so, for those of you who ARE fans, here's a link to '50 of his greatest songs' published in The Times a couple of weeks ago.
When you click on the song titles it links you directly to YouTube and (probably) an original version of Elvis singing that song. I have only listened to the beginning of Hound Dog, because it was late last night when I was saw this article, so I can't vouch for the quality of the recordings.

Pump up the volume and get ALL SHOOK UP with an early morning body pop to Elvis singing YOU AINT NOTHING BUT A HOUND DOG - go on! you KNOW you want to :D
Did you know that, had he lived, he would have been 72 years old!!!!
wow! nice pix and portfolio. looks like you had fun!!
Same with me hun... i love all kindsa music and as long as it has a melody...:-D
...to like classic things or elegant style doesn't mean to be old! it's just an indicator of a good taste. You can go wild and crazy sometimes, you can like wild music, wild time out, you can do crazy things... but even then a good taste either sitting in your blood or not, either it's there or...can't help it..
As I said, I personally like all range of music: from Sinatra and Elvis – then Feirous and Kazem El Saher - to Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana...
Oh yeh I love frankie too... now u must be thinking damn colt is old... no hun... i grew up listening to Frank, Elvis, Dean martin, etc. coz my dad liked 'em .. And recently when Robbie William did the "Live at the Albert" ... damn... i loved that... I so wish I cud see the guy perform at least once...
i am an amateur Elvis impersonator too.
i played at open-mic nights where i am from.
hopefully i will find a venue soon here in Doha then you will be able to see it in person!

Long Live the KING!
But I thought he is still alive, or at least that is what many believes :))))))
I quite agree with you - it's good to have a varied taste in music - very healthy and proves you have an open mind!
Was such a waste that Elvis died so young :(
... that i listen to his music days and nights (as a matter of fact I have no even one his record), but i always admire people who can achieve a lot, and who are inventors and innovators. That’s why i can say, I am fun of those, who is great in his/her field.....And I just love all kinds of GOOD music..... whether it be Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Beatles, Elvis Presley, Elton John, Duran Duran, Feirouz or Nirvana.
hahaha I just received this 'tongue in cheek' comment by e-mail from my husband - I guess his work colleagues like Karaoke!
"This morning, I'm fed up with all our Philippino Engineer's outdoing each other with their Elvis impersonations !! "
I can just imagine it! lmao
I'm happy to say he isn't my generation either! ;o)
I can't say I was mad about the man, though. Probably because my brother and sister (who are 14 years older than me!) were always playing Frank Sinatra records around the house so I grew up in an Elvis-free zone lol.
Muah!!!
Although I'm not a die hard Elvis fan... I love his music and no i'm not even from his generation... so watever??
But yeh I have a live performance of his i think in LA and he he so wild in the song "Suspicious Minds"...
LONG LIVE THE KING!!!
