TEDxDOHA last night turned out to be a full house , well organized event hosted by VMQ & DFI

The KATARA Cinema looked amazing with a line up of speakers including the inspirational Reem Akra, the ever funny Ahmed Ahmed, the witty Taika Waititi , a young Qatari debut Director/writer Ahmed Al Baker , great performance by Nitin Sawhney & amusing special effect talk by Matt Aiken.

A special thanks to all volunteers, they were very helpful.

The cultural Village was buzzing last night with DTFF Activities on every corner

Great Crowd, stunning place...well done DFI

No, I'm not.

To my surprise, the event was well organized and a nice gathering.

To be honest, Taika Waititi was the only speaker who presented in a TED trend speeches.

As Architect j wrote that for a first event in a small city like Doha, it was really good.

I hope to see bright and creative ideas in upcoming events from the whole community (both locals and expats).

a HONEST opinion: i expected a lot more from a TED event. Usually TEDs are filled with amazing ideas and creative presentations, but last night was more of like few successful people talking their life stories.

Now, I'm not saying that it was bad just that it didnt have those creative and thought provoking presentations & ideas that you usually expect from a TED event. The appeal of a TED event is more about the uniqueness, the ideas and the inspiration from the content of the talks, which was missing last night as a whole.

But as a first event, it was good. Hope we get more of IDEAS worth spreading next time :)

and yes, the volunteers, organisation and the venue were more than superb! well done!

full marks to everythiing, except the content of the talks.
