What would you do if Iran was bombed?

I read last night that a US admiral had said there will be no war with Iran. I don't know whether he was telling the truth, and I don't suppose many people know what is going to happen.

Anyway, I was thinking about what I would do if I woke up and the news said that nuclear research facilities in Iran had been bombed by America or Israel. Would I leave the country? Would I sit it out? At the moment, I think I'd probably take the family out of the region for a couple of weeks until it was clear what was happening.

What do you think you would do?

that i had read somewhere that if America decides to go against Iran, Doha and Dubai would be seen as legitimate targets by the Iranians. It could be total fabrication, its hard to know what to believe sometimes...just listen to the French..lol[img_assist|nid=17864|title=Chicks dig Guys with skills|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=440|height=440]

asking for a big fat pay rise as i'd argue for danger pay. and then get out a telescope and watch the us pretend they own thew world again. I just hope Mr bown is clever enough not to follow them into war like a lapdog that the uk seems to be turning into.

i just cant believe that the french are making any kind of bold statement like they have, its so unlike them.

either way a peaceful settlement would be so much better. why cant every one respect each others views...

we were living in Basrah at the time.

The plant had no 'juice' in it (thank GOD) - that's why it didn't go off with a big ~BANG~

given that, qatar has one of the biggest airforce bases outside of the states located some 50km outside of Doha and that the iranian military is about as effective as a chocolate teapot, I would think you would be pretty safe here. So as Gypsy suggests pull a chair and watch the show.

I feel we are dealing with two highly unpredictable people here, and I don't think that the Iranians will just sit back and let Bush drop bombs on Iran.

All in all if you take all the wars America has been involved in over recent years nothing was finished all just consuming money.

If you remember the war between Iraq and Iran some years ago ended with a lot of people and young boys dying for nothing.

So I am quite sure Iran will not tlerate and invasion.

I think I would just sit and wait it out.

IMHO...It is unlikely that the US would strike militarily, but far more likely that their ally Israel would (this according to Pentagon Officials in a Recent Newsweek article).

As was pointed out earlier, this has already happened in the 80s (only it was Iraq then and not Iran). While I certainly think it would raise tensions in the Gulf, I hardly see the need for a mass exodus in Qatar. I mean its not like Iran would retaliate against Qatar is it?

Perhaps Iraq did not have the means or the desire to strike back in the 80s, but I fear Iran does (and that means it bodes badly for places like Lebanon, where Iran CAN strike from)....but not so much for Qatar.

Regardless....If reports are to be believed...Iran's reactors are far less likely (even if destroyed) to have the environmentaly damaging effect Chernobyl had...but such an act could spark a regional armed conflict...let us all hope that cooler heads prevail!

Stay safe all.

Perfection does not exist. The question therefore, is: what level of imperfection are we willing to settle for?

It is highly unlikely that US will do such an act. However, in such a case, I'll prefer to go out of Qatar for some time.

its impossible that USA will attack on Iran coz it is still engaged in Afghanistan where talibans have been giving a great tough time to states.U cant imagine how much of american soldiers were being killed by talibans. Moreover,Iran has a number of great allies in its back which are quite powerful even then USA

I was working in Jordan in the mid 80's when the Israelis bombarded the Iraqi nuclear plant! Nothing happend!

Let's hope the Iranians are keeping the nuc's in a well-sealed containers so that we won't have another Chernobyl here!
