Who is who?

Not sure if there's already a thread like this, but I just scanned the first couple of pages and I didn't see one... I just arrived in Qatar a week ago, and just joined the forum, and figured I'd introduce myself. And since I'm curious who I'm talking to, please do the same ;)

I've been in Doha for one week, and I'm staffed on a four month consulting project here. I'm originally from Holland, living in Singapore, 29, female and working in Asia/ME. I've been warned that Doha is a boring place, but it doesn't seem so bad yet... there's a cinema, lots of restaurants and I had a great time at one (of the four?) clubs. (more tips on where to go or what to do are more than welcome!)

Yeah, Pearl's good. The new DJ knows his stuff.

Feeling at home on QL right away, thanks! I'll check out the other link, to get an idea who's walking around here...

I think the club I went to is called The Pearl. (though my memories are a bit blur) I loved the music there, nice mix of dance and arabic music. Hoping some of the dancing moves of the women here will brush off on me :)

Greetings, Bridge. Welcome to Doha and to QL. Hope you settle down quickly.

You've probably heard about the traffic by now...and experienced some of it yourself.

That's probably the worst part of Doha. Everything else is what you make of it. I've been slow getting my butt in gear and going out to meet people but the folks on QL have been super.

I was getting depressed about this place but now I'm feeling pretty optimistic.

Good luck to you.

welcome to doha :), I'd take you for a grand tour but I'm off on vacation in a couple of days ;) be back in a month or so..tho.

If you can live in singapour and love it you should be able to handle doha, however the living is just a bit 'turned down' over here. and about 10 times more expensive... (at least in my opinion-lah ...)

anyways
