Working for Rasgas

Winnie
By Winnie

My husband will be working for Rasgas Accounts. Does anyone know anything about this company?
Are they a good family friendly company?
What is their accommodation like? We are being given either a villa or a house - whats the main difference between the two?
Would it be better in Al Khoor compound or nearer Doha? We might have a choice.
Sorry about the barrage of questions but I have had tremendous difficulty logging on and have finally sorted it.
By the way this site has been extremely helpful since I found it .Thank you all.

Hi Everyone some help please :)

Does Ras Gas fly employees home on business class or econemy ? Or is it after a certain grade you become entitled to fly business class ?

as for schooling I was told that my kids have to go to a school that teaches the national ciriculm , so that birits go to british schools , arabs go to arabic schools indian go to idian schools !! Is that true ?

Thank you

Are they a good family friendly company?-- i think so, i not working for them but reputation says so...

What is their accommodation like? In addition to my earlier post, I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree and Masters in Public Administration, University Diploma in Mass Communication,Executive Masters Certificate in Project Management from Project Management College Uk and other Professional Media related courses. I have variously held the positions of State Project Administrator and State Programme Manager respectively for E.U funded Projects; Protocol/Logistics & Events Manger for a USAID funded Project;NewsCaster/Reporter with specialty on covering oil politics at the Niger Delta; Senior Assistant Registrar - Information/Protocol for a University Institution;etc.

I guess my experience and qualification will earn me a space in Ras Gas.

Can someone help?

I hope the offer comes through for you.

I am sure you will enjoy Qatar but it is not as laid back as Turkey!

hi winnie,

I have read through the related posts in this site regarding your move to Qatar.I am also looking to move to Doha and probably will be getting an offer from Rasgas.

I understand that you have already moved, therefore very interested to hear about how it went for you and things to watch for.

Any information regarding living in Al Khor would be appreciated.

I am also interested in any information re being employed by Rasgas.

Hope you are enjoying your time in Qatar.

Best regards,

Thank you everyone. This has gone a long way to easing some of our worries. Yes, we only began to realise that we had such a good deal after we came across this site and saw some of the situations some people have to face. We do get living accommodation, schooling for the kids, dental care and furnishing allowance and I believe subsidised facilities plus return fare back to England once a year. We assumed that was a typical package at the time. The company offices are relocationg to Doha at end of year also.

I am desperate to get some information on the compounds - pictures of styles, gardens, average size of rooms, quality of kitchens and appliances. All those things that affect the home style. Is it true that they all come with maids quarters ? If so WOW.

We are so excited about this move we can't wait. However because of work I can't come out until end of August. I have visited so many sites on Qatar that I feel I know it already. I feel like a kid waiting for xmas

Hi There,

I am not employed by RasGas (so no bias), but I have done some contract work for them. I would say they are one of the most forward thinking companies around.

They understand the sacrifice of moving an entire family to this region and provide great assistance to the stay at home mother. They actively encourage thier employees to find out where thier talents lie and allow them to move between jobs within the company.

The work I did for them was making a DVD explaining this and much more about RasGas and Qatar. If you contact [email protected] she would be more than happy to send you a copy of this DVD and answer any questions you may have.

aisha is right. a lot of people are dreaming working there. good benefits and allowances. if you have kids, i would suggest the same, nearer to doha is better. i have a friend who works at rasgas, but she stays here in doha. although the travel time for your husband would be about an hour or more. but it will more of an advantage on your side staying in Doha ;)

RasGas..I'd say it's the best. Many dream of working there :-) Great place.Lot's of work but they PAY .

I don't know about the accomodation, but I know that for you and the kid\s the nearer to doha the better. That's for sure. But for your husband I guess he'll have to get up EARLIER at morning ...

Good luck.
