Which LCD television brand is better ?Sony Bravia or
Samsung or LG ?

I read below Review from Google and discouraged now from buying a Sony Product now :-

Sony is hiding specifications on the web which they are lagging as compared to Samsung and LG. For first time I'm putting Korean products above Japanese.

BADS:
The specifications mentioned here are not complete and the specifications which are at the lower side are on purpose hidden from the user.

1) The PC connectivity over VGA doesn’t support the 1920x1080 resolution which is mentioned on sony.co.in
one has to purchase the LCD TV, open the box, open the manual to find the actual resolution (1360x768)
The marketing team in Delhi agrees that the specification (or limitation) is hidden on purpose for marketting benefits.

2) The voice zoom function can’t zoom to make the change noticible, one can’t notice any change in listening while watching TV serials or cricket matches.

3) In day light (not the direct sun light) in the hall, the TV appears poorly illumunated, you have to move all the settings to maximum to view the picture somehwat coolly.

4) The SonyWorld sales people are not trained on demo-ing any of the features, I had asked for the motion-flow demo in the X series, the sales person told me and demoed me how the rolling text on the news channel appeared better on the X series... no other demo

5) Picture side by picture.. you get fixed size windows, can’t change the ratio to 1:1

6) The PC connected screen by default, doesn’ cover all the screen, you have to cover it by using zoom, it appears as if not all the pixles work :))

7) The SonyWorkd showroom sales person told me that 1 wallmouting is free and Sony will be contacting me, but no one turned on. I new that the wall mounting is not for free, but at least the sales person should have verified and then committed

8) the V or S series and W series would have no difference if you plugin a device which doesn’’t deliver 1080p (full HD). For Full HD 1080p, you will have to purchase the Blu-ray DVD player (Rs. 20k to 30k) and DVDs around Rs. 5k each

I Mean only if you have the Blu ray DVD player and the Blu ray DVDs, only then W series will appear better than S or V series, otherwise zero difference

9) The head of the Sony services tried to confess that if the laptop is not capable of sourcing in 1920x1080, the TV will not support it , but when he verified this with the actual service persons, he found out that
1920x1080 is supported only for PC connectivity over HDMI, not over VGA. He then said.. he never said the earlier :)

Goods:
1) Picture from the cable and non HD DVD player is good, crystal clear in tube-light
2) Zoom is also good, linear
3) Sound quality in non standard modes is good, noticible difference

Go for SONY BRAVIA!!

It has "NATURAL" colors compares with other brands. Others can only give you a bright color, but it makes your eyes tired.

LCD is not only about a bright colors. The good quality TV LCD, if it can give you a natural colors, so you don't have to worry about the color of a flower in your TV and in your garden.

That's make Sony Bravia different from others. Like No Others!

Trust me.

Sony can change a robot become a human!

All lcd tv made by big player like sony, samsung, sharp, toshiba, hitachi etc are very good. it could be true they all chipped with same engine and made by OEM in Taiwan. we just need to carefully choose one with the spec we need. most of them now, especially the one above 26" screen wide, are capable to play back HD resolution. the key point is the dvd player. it has to have HD play back capability also. and yes, HD can only be produce with HDMI interface, not others. but for DVD media, it can only up scaled to hi-def. the true hi-def experience can be felt when u play blue ray media. for audio, u can not rely on tv's built in sound system. u have to get home theater system which has digital optical input. then u will get true 5.1 dolby digital or THX sound quality. i.e I have BenQ lcd tv which connected to my ps3 by HDMI cable, and sony home theater which connected by fiber optic cable. fantastic

Sony is a quality manufacturer of LCDs, that's why ericsson chose it to be it's partner, the result is sony ericsson mobile phones, if your concern only is LCD, quality pix, no doubt sony is one of the best.

I have a samsung R series and it won over the Sony V series. It looks better on the wall too. Picture quality is outstanding and it has 3 HDMI plugs. I love it. Sound it pathetic though - very tinny (even though it has SRS, dolby etc) but it makes no difference to me as i've hooked it up to my home theater system.

I use my Sony Playstation 3 blu ray player (tht is Rs 17,000) with it and the blue ray disc cost around Rs 1,300 or so (i borrow it). Ofcourse all these are riyal conversion into rupees. I've picked up the Sony Playstation HTS remote (bluetooth) as an accesory for watching movies.

In a lot of showrooms that are selling any type of digital camera, the monitors they use to display the pictures are almost always sony's,this has been because of their superior quality. Although meybe technology has caught up with a few other brands now.
