I am 36 years old, living in Athens, Greece, English teacher specialised in English for Specific Purposes with over 10 years experience and I also teach Public Relations and Communication in Greek Universities.I ama British Educated holding a BA, MSc, and I am currently finishing an MA and a PhD. I am thinking of moving to Qatar with my 15 year old daughter. Would you please tell me what my chances are of finding a job there, preferrably in an academic environment, how I am going to approach and find it and what the salaries are.
Many thanks in advance

Best Regards,

Ioanna

And think twice before looking for a job here. Here is no life. No taxi service. No good roads.no metro. Flats are very expensive and anyway look horrible. Honestly, better to look for a job in UAE - Dubai or Abu Dhabi, as I know job paid well and at least you and your daughter will have normal life. In Doha even no any public beach and to use hotel beach u have to pay abot 200 qar and above, and for cheaper option u have to drive 2 hrs...

Well, first you find a job, then you move. If you come to search you cut your salary in half. I'd say the chances of your finding job are good. The chances of your finding a GOOD job are less certain. It's probably too late for a good job for this coming September. Do your homework, read QL, go on daveseslcafe, and be very careful. There are a lot of employers that will give you promises but deliver a very bad experience.
