UK driving license

Right probably a silly question for you wise people of QL.
We are due to relocate to Doha next August for a period of at least 2 years. My wife needs to renew her driving license that still has her previous surname, not the married one. Now will she be able to use that license in Qatar or she is better with changing the name in the UK license now and then getting the Qatari one with her married name?
I hope this makes sense. I think I even got myself confused!!

Thanks and take care everyone

then there will be a no problem .... once you arrive in Doha you can apply for Temp driving lic for 3 months and once your residence permit is stamped in your passports then you can get a permanent driving lic for 10 yrs. :-)

Hi all and thanks very much for your replies.

Her name in the passport is the maiden name so I think that following your suggestions, the best thing to do is to leave her driving license as it is, so it matches the name on passport.

Take care everyone

it would be better to have the same name in both passport and licence..

mmmmm I've got a driving licence here in Qatar with my maiden name, yet my UK driving licence has my married name...but...my passport is still in my maiden name...maybe it depends what surname is in her passport. Hope that makes sense!!
