Beaches? Where do we go?
By paulfreathy •
Having just arrived I was hoping to toddle off down to the sea, but to my surprise, I can't find a beach!
Any ideas on where I go?
I hear you can go to the hotels, if you join with a rather steep membership fee which I can't afford at the moment,so where does one put their feet in the water?
All ideas welcome!
Happy Wednesday everyone!
put their feet in the water?
easy ..
3 things needed in order to wet ones feet ..
You'll need the following :
A: a TUB
B: WATER
C: feet
tadaaa ..
there u have it ..
I've shared my feet soaking secret with you ( my way of saying welcome to Qatar )
Al Wakra beach is the best bet for you. I live near to it and love it very much since it is the only beach where I can go easily to soak myself in.
Um Said is another one but a bit distance from Doha City. You will need to drive for about 30 minutes to 40 just to get there. Soon, once you have acquired a car then you should consider Um Bab beach. It is situated a bit far from Qatar on the west but the place is worthy for sunset view with its buble coastline and few group of spectacular palm trees. Splendid for a romantic outing!
Anyway, good luck chap!
Al Gharia Beach (It even has a beach resort now) which is on the way to Ras Laffan via Al Khor route. Its the cleanest of the lot tht v hav here in Qatar. Also, der is the Sealine Beach Resort down south of Qatar, which for a fee of 50Qar, u cud use the beach and the swimming pool... Der r couple of other beaches on the far north-west of Qatar, but i think 4 now Al Gharia suits u best since u r new 2 town. Enjoi..!!!
Thanks D
Every spare moment I have I try log on, need to get those points up!
Thanks again for the great information everyone
hi. you can drive to al khor. there is a beach resort there too. have fun!
Fuwairit is on the north east coast. You best bet is to buy a copy of Maharba (carrefour will have them). They have a whole section near the front about beaches and how to get to them.
paul, best you stick around on the forum, keep posting and collect more points. Then apply to be a QLSG member. The group going to beach now and again during cooler months. :D
Try Fuwairit?
Whereabouts would I find it?
Try Fuwairit! one of the best!
As always fantastic advice! Thank you everyone! I will get Marhaba, and travel to Al Wakhra!
There, now I feel much better!
Thanks so much and have a lovely day!
See if you can get hold of a 'Marhaba' magazine - the answer to all your queries on Qatar!
Al Wakra Beach and Park is a public area where anyone can soak their feet.
It is not that crowded over there during weekdays. It is best to go there in mornings because there's not much people there, and it is only a 10-12 min. drive. The cool breeze, sunrise, soft sand, and the soothing seawater soaking my feet... really are refreshing.
Just beware not to go there during peak days. I am referring to weekends when everyone is set to go out.
drive thru al-wakra and you will find a beach ..
we goes camping or day trip to inland sea. But you would need a 4 wheel drive and going in a convoy.
