Egypt tourism nowadays

Hi All,

We are formulating a plan for a 10 days family holiday around the Eid period. Right now we are debating on where to go to  and Egypt is high on the list.

How's Egypt nowadays with regard to tourism. Is it a safe and enjoyable place to go for someone with very limited command of Arabic language ?

Of course you heard in the news about people returning to Tahrir square . Has it affected the tourist area in any way ?

Should we go ahead with this trip or better plan to go to alternate destinations (Jordan, Lebanon or Morocco for instance) ?

Many thanks

SK

Hi there, actually at the moment I am living in Egypt and within few weeks i will relocate to Qatar...even I am not egyptian so I can tell you how is the situation from my point of view.I am here for more than 2months and went to Alexandria and Hurghada as a tourist. I know the country before revolution since I was living here for two years and I have to say that a lot is changed. The country is being built and in many points is getting better. So if you are planning to come as a tourist and you will not go to political protests or the places they take place do not worry you can have perfect vacation. Also depend what you want to do or to see. But in general do not worry it is safe and tourists are still here. Should you have some more questions, write me in here.
