I come from the UK and have enjoyed many a night out with only female friends,(my husband's interest in shopping is minimal)and have not had any problems. I have always been made to feel welcome in the souks and anywhere else but obviously when in Rome do as the Romans. Compared to England, the lack of flesh (pink and fatty) on show is a welcome relief. Also, if you are interested in anything, do stop and ask a local person, they really do enjoy sharing their country with us and will give up time to help you.
