I am sponsored by my wife (3 year residents permit) but it took a lot of effort to do. The first two applications were rejected and the third only went through because we were luckily enough to know someone who knew someone who had authority.
Since then I've seen a couple of news articles, the first saying that women would no longer be able to sponsor men whatever the circumstances (originally it was supposedly done on a case by case basis), then one saying that this had to be changed in order to keep ex-pats here.
So I'm not sure what the current situation is I'm afraid. I would suggest you get sponsored by your company and start the application to sponsor your husband asap, but remember that there is no guarantee that they will let you sponsor him.
Depending on his nationality he will be able to go onto a tourist VISA once he leaves his company which will buy you some time but it will mean that he will have to leave the country every now and then.
But as with most situations here it is difficult to know what the right information is. Get your company to help as much as possible.
