I understand that a circular was sent to Government Departments yesterday (Sunday 26th August), advising that the Sept. 3rd public holiday had been 'cancelled', in favour of December 18th - now to be 'National Day'.
What a pity that the authorities (or, at least, the Gulf Times, when reporting it) didn't say that Sept. 3rd would no longer be a public holiday when the change was announced.
We have already made all our plans on the basis of 3rd being a holiday!
They will need to change the Labour Law, of course.
What a way to run a country! Still, if they could do it themselves, then they wouldn't need us all, so we should look on such incompetence in a positive light!!
