Yeah, it's a problem not only inside the r/a, but when you exit as well.
Yesterday morning, in fact, I was in the outside lane at TV r/a, and was fully exiting to the outside lane. In other words, keep my lane, right? Well, the fool in front of me (a small pickup truck...) drifted over to the middle lane-- yep, in morning traffic-- then decided to exit to the outside lane. You just really really really have to pay attention. If I hadn't been, and not seen what was going to happen, and not slammed on my brakes, he would have sideswiped me. It wasn't a matter of letting the guy in. It was a matter of the guy deciding to use the exact same space my car was occupying.
Of course I laid on the horn, and the dudes in the pickup looked at me as though there was some problem with them arbitrarily deciding to change exit lanes while I was there.
No, the guy wasn't Qatari. It was a ubitquious little pickup filled with ubitquious workers of a seemingly ubitquious nationality or set of nationalities which seem to frequently drive those little pickup trucks, fully-occupied with passengers.
I was lividly hopping mad. It was a really good thing we didn't stop near one another at Burger King r/a, or I was about a hair's breadth away from getting out and shouting at the dude.
I'm not trying to be the controlling white girl here, either. It's the fact that you've absolutely got to pay attention when you're driving here, particularly when traffic is heavy like that, and even more particularly when exiting or entering roundabouts. If it wasn't me, it would be someone else he would cause an accident with, simply by not paying attention. I'm very lucky someone wasn't right behind me in the lane, or I could have gotten rear-ended. Which would have really made a lot of people angry since it was the morning rush-hour scramble.
All it would have taken the guy was a simple mirror/head check before changing lanes. God forbid. *shakes head*
