If you intend to heavily crop your photos before printing them then you'll need more megapixels.
If all you want is a basic point and shoot then any of the known brand names on the market will suffice. The ultra-slim models will perform fine for basic point and shoot. Fatter models will have slightly better technology, but both types should be able to 3x optical zoom, which is pretty standard.
There is a Canon store in Salam shopping center, which I found to be the cheapest place for Canon. There is a store near the Starbucks on the 2nd floor of City Center that deals with Sony cameras. Not sure what the prices are like though.
