After 3 month evaluation, I have bought Nikon D5100 last month from Salam. It was cost me QAR 3499. It is good camera for beginners. Canon 600D (T3i Rebel) is the competitor product. I believe Nikon is having slight edge compare to Cannon. Nikon is having good photo quality with 11 focus points. Additionally you can enjoy cool effects with Nikon. I really like selective colors. As a beginner KIT lens is sufficient to start. During the photography you will feel what type of lenses you need. So my suggestion is to buy a NIKON D5100. But if you are having extra cash you can buy NIKON D7000.
