A disagreement between company and employee about resign, Company is not sponsor.
After spending 3 years my employer experienced some financial crisis and asked me to find another job, he promised that he would give NOC to transfer visa to another company. I joined another company and they asked me to sign a probation period contract and promised me (not written) that they will arrange visa transfer so I would be under their sponsorship just after probation, but it didn't happen. It's been one year working with them but they even didn't try to initiated the visa transfer process. Promise after promise. Whenever an inspection team visit the company, they ask me and some other employees to go outside of office until inspection team left the office.
Now I'm very much tired of this situation and don't want to work anymore with them. I just submitted a resign with a seven days prior notice. I promised to hand off all my ongoing projects within 7 days. After submitting the resign letter HR manager is telling me that As per the Qatar law, whenever any employee passes the probation period and decided after it to leave, a 1 month prior notice is obligatory. I really cannot stay anymore, I need a solid advice. please.
You were nice enough to give them a 7 day period to hand-over all the work to someone else!! Now they want to make you stay a month? You realize you have no legal obligations to this company? They aren't your sponsor and they can't do anything about it.
Pack up your desk and don't even show up the next day...If they were smart they would let you go without any questions :)
hi,
only your sponser can prevent you from leaving the country. if the people you work for are not your sponser they cannot make you stay... anyway you are leagally not working for them... however you need an exit permit from your sponser to leave the country... perhaps you could get your last employer to give you the exit permit to leave.
hope this helps
