Ex-Dubai Employee to move in Doha

Sweetheart-Dhey
By Sweetheart-Dhey

I worked in Dubai for 3 years as a Personal Assistant to the Director and Managing Director in a private Group of Companies, unfortunately bcoz of the recession, the business closed, same time as my contract finished so i decided to go back home here in Manila, i just arrived exactly a month ago (09 Aug.). Given a chance, i want to work there in Doha Qatar.

I asked already about Visas to some resources, like tourist visa is around 1200QR (1:1 ratio to UAE Dirhams). I am looking for a sponsor in which he/she can provide the sponsorship under the company so that he/she will pay only like around 200QR. That would be a big discount! Or hopefully you have job vacancies in your offices. (Office works, sales, marketing, media, etc.)

Thank u in advance for the responses. God bless.

Dhey, kumuha kasi ako ng tourist visit dito and transferred directly from Dubai to Doha. I spent 2100 QR for the whole package (tourist visa for 1 month, hotel accommodation - dummy lang, and dxb-doh-mnl ticket which is yung doh-mnl is dummy ulit). Sayang.

1. Letter of support from one of your friends dito and authenticated by the Philippine embassy in Doha.

2. A show money minimum of 5000 QR. &/or bank statement ng mga credit cards mo showing na hindi ubos ang credit line mo to spend as tourist here.

3. A hotel reservation (dummy lang)

2. two wat ticket (mnl-doh-mnl) pero yung return ticket mo to Manila is dummy ulit.

Alam ko pwede nilang irrange lahat ng dox mentioned above pero at a pakage price. You can call up Aldanna travels / fahad services thru telephone number: 00974-4418444, 00974-4428444 or email them at [email protected].

While hinihintay mo yung mga documents mo, you can surf jobs at gulf new website and submit your job applications thru email para pagdating mo, may mga interesado nang kumuha sa iyo. Good luck and best wishes for your plan to go and work in Doha.

Ga, I also worked in Dubai and I am now in Doha. Like you, umalis rin ako ng Dubai for some reasons. Although, we usually recieve bigger salaries in Dubai, mostly ang salary rate dito sa Qatar is not the same as back in UAE. Siguro dahil mas mababa ang cost of living dito sa Doha compared to Dubai. Pero comparing Doha to Dubai, mas maganda dito kasi parang hindi ka pressured sa oras mo. Unlike Dubai which is a big city, halos nagrurush ang mga tao.

Better get a tourist visa here in Doha and try your chances. Tutal ex-abroad ka na. Tourist visa would cost you around 800 QR sa Aldanna travels. The cost excludes the tickets and hotel accomodation. The package would be around 3000 to 4000 QR.

hi raguzman, tnx for the response. if i will expect a higher salary than what i was getting in dubai, it must be pretty high...:-(

bocz there, my immediate sponsor gave me a basic of 7k, a rented brand new honda vtec 2008, food and mobile card allowance. (unfotunately business closed)

now that we are in the middle of financial crisis, it can be negotiated...

based on my observations in most companies here in doha, they really are cutting down on manpower so there's more termination than hiring...

however, there are companies who are still looking for employees to hire and yes, your having past GCC experience is an advantage...

i don't recommend, though, coming here on tourist visa because that will give you shorter time to look for employment and more often than not, they offer very small salary especially if the expiry of your visa nears...

so, it is better to post your cv through online recruitment sites to make it easier for you to find employment...

bottomline, it's better and cheaper to find a company who will hire you directly and shoulder all your expenses including visa, ticket, etc.

--> it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all...

As from experiences and queries of Filipinos around here, the company will provide you with an accomodation, transport, and a working visa once they got you accepted in a position through a resident legal agency in your country connected to a Qatar company. I think they'll only let you pay just the initial one-month salary equivalent as charges for the government legal fees and recruitment fees.
