I just moved from dubai to doha also got my RP. Day by day I get new info in doha but the one i got surprised is with exit permit to take when going anywhere out of qatar. Please someone share complete information and rules about this.

Also came to know that one cannot call his father on visit if father is 60+. Is this correct. If yes this is really absurd. Any way of calling my father on visit? Please advice.

Thank you all.

Welcome onboard... I am here just 4 months now... and already full of amazing surprises...

Exit permit is a must to leave the country once u are here... Thats some rule!!

And friend, I am in the same lookout to bring my parents (60+) here for a visit... Will surely let you know if I succeed.

Dude do let me know if you do... And off course dont forget to njoy Qatar...

You can get multi exit permit valid for one year. But of course if your sponsor will allow you. One of my friend also brought his mother-father in law, it is not impossible ;)

Pack your luggage and get out of here before someone knocks you down on the street. You need to discover Qatar driving habits first. People on 4WD does not care the fellow motorists who drive smaller vehicles like cars.

We're all just slaves here...

If your husband sponsors you, you can leave freely. But if a company sponsors you, they have to let you leave. I find this funny...

As for the 60+ father, it depends on your passport. Your account says "Qatar" but I cannot imagine that's true if you have an RP! Anyway, it depends on your passport. Generally, westerners can get their older parents here on a visit visa. Others cannot. Good luck!

Yes you need an exit permit like the rest of us. Should have thought of that before taking on a position in Qatar.

Regarding your 60+ father visit. It is possible to get a visit visa for him, for that you will need to convince the Captain at the Immigartion Department.

you can check for it by typing the subject you want to know in the "search" button and it will appear...

there's a lot of threads regarding exit permits and family visit visa in this forum.

if you are under visit/business visa..you don't need for EXIT permit..

otherwise if you have RP...yes you need EXIT permit everytime you go outside Qatar. that is the rule and law... we are only expatriate here so we must abide the rules and their law...nothing can do...

regarding to your father, yes again..if he already 60 years of age..he has no chance to go either visit Qatar...

I have same problem before.. my parent already 60+ and everytime I apply them visit visa, the immigration always denying and rejecting my application even I am qualified to sponsor them... until the time I'm fed up..and i give up..because it seems i am just wasting my time...so i just accept the truth that i can not bring my parent here in qatar even in a visit visa...

again.. that is one of their rules and laws...
