How long can a baby with valid RP stay out of Qatar?

Hi,

My baby was born here in Qatar and we recently (Jan 2012) sent her to the Philippines. Since she was born here, she already has a valid Residence Visa/Permit. I just want to know how long she can stay out of the country? I read that it's 6 months, is this still true? How do we apply for an extension, just in case we can't bring her here in 6 months?

Your baby can stay here as long as you want,and as long as she sponsored by your husband.Make it sure that your baby can come back here in Doha before her 1 year old to renew his visa.

Expats having a valid RP can stay out of qatar for 6 months and can be extended for another 6 months by applying to immigration office a return visa extension by paying QR500.
