My husband arrived in Doha mi January, he had fingerprints around 2 weeks ago and still no Resident permit, Does anyone know a way to find out when he will have it? Without it we can't buy a car and the worst I can't have my driving license....
You can get a temporary driver's license without your RP. Once your RP is issued the Police will then convert it to a permanent one. Unfortunately without your RP you cannot buy a car so you will have to continue with a rental car until it arrives.
Check in the website, www.moi.gov.qa if the residence permit is already visible. 2-3 weeks is the normal processing period BUT it depends upon the follow up. There is no such thing in the Immigration Departmemnt that they will call you to inform you "hey you ID and Residence Permit is Ready".
Just a piece of advice, ask the person in charge on his'company to follow it up. LIke the case of my husband, I even call the Mandoop himslef to follow it up because I already saw it in the MInistry's site but we arent got anything or heard anything from him
