Work Visa

Hi All

I have recently received a job offer in Qatar.

I have been told with regards to the work visa they would pay for my flight to come to Qatar and upon arrival I would obtain a tourist visa at the airport. My employers would then process the work visa and in order to process that they may need me to be outside the country so they may send me to Dubai and then fly me back again.

I have asked them to confirm in the contract that the expense for this would be fully covered and they have responded that it would be and me being a british national they see no issues with this.

I am new to this but does this sound and make sense?

Thanks

I think slman got it right. Work visa issuance takes exactly 1 day, ok 2 days.. So if Company doesn’t do it, it’s just because they don’t WANT to do it at this moment. On the other hand since you are Brit, they are sure it will be no any problem to get a Work Visa for you in the future (with some other nationalities Company must check first whether Work Visa can be obtained for this certain nationality, but they know they are safe with Brits)..

..and even if your Visit visa has expired, sometimes no need to go out of the country... you (or your Company) can just pay to the government QR 500 – equivalent of the ticket to Bahrain – and get your Work Visa issued.

I also came to Qatar on visit visa on arrival, and I even didn’t finish the Residency with my first company (I didn’t like the job and refused to sign the contract, which stopped all the process of RP issuing), and I started working with other Company.. my RP eventually was issued after somewhat 3-3.5 months being in Qatar, and I didn't have to leave Qatar.. A lot depends on the person who is dealing with all these your visas..I was lucky.. ;)

some companie do this way. cos they have no idea though u have shown ur paper qualification they might not have idea how u will do. so they need a time to check u. that is one reason they don't give the work Visa. else if they need they can give work visa directly. So come here. show them ur best and get the offer from them.

The process they have toled is normal. don't worry.

All the best. Have a good time

Tourist visa can also extend one more month...

And , within this one month, you can get your visa, you can just transfer ur visa status from tourist visa to work visa.

In such case, no need to go out !!

Yes, it's a normal process. If they can't get your residency permit processed before your tourist visa runs out you usually do a visa run to Bahrain or Dubai. We've all been there!
