Dust throwing cars

Many would have seen some vehicles running past on the off road, in order to overtake (from the right side) slow moving long traffic lanes, and in the process blowing and throwing heavy dust on hundreds of other vehicles that are moving slow while approaching the signal.

This phenomena makes hundreds of cars dusty every day even they are all serviced the same day. Abu Hamour road, Shumal Road and Dukhan Road are worst example of it.

Does this bad practice fall under the traffic violation rules?

living in the desert and trying to escape sand..best of luck with that..the overtaking cars are committing a violation; but they don't even cause a fraction of the dust on your car. It'd be more dusty from just being parked at home on a humid night

There was a forum posted in here QL, where the poster was telling his story as he was in emergency and took the by pass dust path over taking all cars moving slow towards signal while coming back from Industrial area to Doha . Police caught him at that moment and fined him 6000 QR (yes, one zero is not by mistake, its six thousand QR).

The poster was upset and sort of complaining as according to him he was in hurry and never do that regularly, poor guy...

First of all its "a violation" for sure. But i was unaware of fine which is equal to breaking red signal, i am happy with the rule, not with the guy who did only once and that too in emergency.

In Wukair this is daily thing at a roundabout, one day police hid and stopped all cars doing this, ofcource they were fined i guess.

Police is doing good job, but i guess more efforts are still needed to handled "not so complicated" situation, it just straight forward violation and police presence can stop it, till the habit vanishes of cruel drivers.

You can't and nobody can stop it..that's normal here in Qatar. Besides you're lucky to have dust not pebbles!

Only the Overtaking at right side is the violation for that...QR500.
