Hit and run by White Toyota Camry
A white toyota camry ran fast in red light at the round about in Al Thumama hit my car and ran away. The police will not give me police report because of incomplete case. How can I claim my comprehensive insurance if I the other party will not show to the police? Help me find the white toyota camry with damage on the right side.
newexpatqatar: Most drivers on the roads here are in the low-income bracket with many of them drawing hardly QR 2000 per month. To them, losing QR 6000 means much. Hence, they are extra cautious. Put yourself in their shoes and you will understand things better.
I agree some idiot drivers stop even when green light starts to blink ...
A good driver will pass by even in the yellow light .
acchabaccha: I uderstand that , but there are rules which are black and white. For example, someone asked about transfering license. He was refused, but someone told him to see the captain.
Another OP said that he ran a red light and did not want to pay the heavy fine. Someone suggested that he see the captain.
brit: There are certain issues where only the Captain has the powers to decide. All organizations private or otherwise, have a hierarchy and I am sure you are aware of it. For example, the powers a GM of a company has, is far greater than someone down the rung in any private organization.
It's happened to me as well.. At 1am in the morning a white Camry 2008 model hit me from the back in high speed when I was stop in the D-Ringroad signal coming from Muntaza towards Mesaimeer. He hit me on my left side until my car jump to the right and stuck under a dump truck which is stop on my right side for a red signal as well. That Camry was heavily damage as my car is a Jeep, but when we get out of the car he ran away, he turn off his light so we can't see his plate number. He cross the red light going to industrial, turn left to New Salata housing and gone.. We tried to chase him but no luck, 2 hours roaming around New Salata we found nothing.. We report to airport police but they direct us to al mamoura traffic police. In al mamoura they told me to wait for a week coz they will check the camera in that area first. After a week we return to police and got nothing than a paper to repair our car under our own expenses as they couldn't found that camry..
Why is it that everything revolves around seeing "The Captain" . Why can't issues be resolved by the guy at the counter ?
If you have already reported the matter to the police they will be able to sooner or later catch the person as his car will also be needing repairs for which he must get hold of a Police Report. Try talking to the captain at the police station and explain to him the situation. They are very helpful, cooperative and understanding and he may help you out.
